Star Parties in the UK
Astronomy Society members regularly visit a number of places, in the UK, that have a lot less light pollution than Huddersfield.
In recent years we make regular pilgrimages to the following:
1) Equinox Star Party - held at a campsite near Weybourne Holt, in Norfolk.
2) Kielder Forest, Northumberland, which hosts two star parties:
Spring - run by Sunderland Astronomical Society www.sunderlandastro.com
Autumn - run by Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society www.kielderobservatory.org
3) Dalby Star Camp run by Scarborough and Ryedale Astronomical Society - held at Adderstone Field

Dalby has fewer faciliites than either Equinox or Kielder, but it is still a nice place to go.
There's plenty to do in Kielder, if you are the outdoors type
It is also possible to visit Kielder at times outside the star party events
