400 years ago an Italian Astronomer, Galileo Galilei, used the first Astronomical telescope to view Jupiter and Saturn and in doing so changed the course of history and overturned hundreds of years of existing beliefs.

400 years on, during 2009, Astronomers from allover the world are celebrating his discoveries as part of
INTERNATIONAL YEAR  OF ASTRONOMY 2009
